O.k. so I know the mamas of the world probably already have their beach trip spot picked out and planned and already have the cool wagon all packed up.  But the ONE thing they always like help with is…….

    WHAT TO WEAR.

I don’t know when shopping for bathing suits became such a chore.  I think I remember a time around 4 or 5 years old that picking out a swimsuit was fun.  I got to choose what Disney character was on it and my mom got my size and that was that.

I feel like around the time I turned 13 the fun stopped.  My body has been a state of constant transition since then so putting it on display in a bathing suit was as almost as terrifying as walking on the beach naked.  In my teens it was because my boobs were growing.  In my 20’s it was because I was trying to become a Victoria’s Secret model.  And now in my 30’s I just want to be comfortable and look somewhat cute doing it.

I went on a mission to find some flattering and comfortable suits in hopes to help ease the minds of women everywhere that bathing suit shopping does NOT have to be a nightmare anymore!

First of all, we live in an age of ONLINE SHOPPING, which means that in the privacy of your own home, with the good lighting and your mirror of choice you can order all the suits you want and try them on at your leisure!  Since I was a kid my mama taught me to always wear my undies when I try on swim suits because you JUST never know…..(hehe) and I still do that to this day!

I focused more on one-pieces than two for this piece, although my girlfriend lovingly pointed out that wearing a one-piece is somewhat a pain in the butt when it comes to peeing.  I didn’t think that through, obviously, so my suggestion is to learn how to move that bathing suit to the side to pee while hovering OR just strip it down and wiggle around as you pull it back up.  (Sorry ya’ll.)

Old Navy Cutout Swimsuit

I love this suit!  It was comfortable and gave me a little PUSH where I needed it and still provided coverage in all the places I am still not 100% exposing.  Plus, the floral print was cute and fun!

I didn’t have super high expectations of this, even with the 307 customer reviews (4.5 stars)….but WOW!  True to size, high quality, low price, fast shipping, and super great fit!  SHOCKED AND HAPPY!  From the reviews they say to size down, but I would say stick with your regular size.  I’m almost 5’4 and 128 lbs and the size small fit me perfect!  I think it would even look adorable to pair with shorts for a casual bite out.

Becca Crochet One-Piece Swimsuit

Alright…..I am a cheapy when it comes to bathing suits.  I’m a fan of Old Navy, Target, and even WalMart for suits and prefer to stay under $30 for the whole she-bang.  I kept seeing bloggers and influencers all-over posting about this Becca suit and when I saw it was on sale at Nordstrom, I snagged it.  OH. MY. GOODNESS. I guess the whole “you get what you pay for” is true sometimes.  It’s the most I’ve ever spent on a bathing suit, but it’s also the only time I’ve ever felt truly confident to strut around the sand or the pool.  I felt good and I looked good and that is PRICELESS.  Also – it is what every single woman in the world needs in a bathing suit.  *This suit is still on sale in color – Bay Leaf on Nordstrom.com in limited sizes so HURRY!

Target’s Universal Threads Kerrigan Slides

Pictured in the above try-on! I love these slides!  They are comfy and perfect for running around in!  At $12.99 a pop (and right now they are running a BOGO 1/2 off deal) you can’t beat it!

Old Navy Flip Flops

Old Navy flip flops

I’m a huge fan of these flip flops for pool-season.  They are durable and comfortable enough to wear for longer than five minutes.  They also come in a variety of colors – perfect for all the swimsuit pairings you will have this summer!  And sometimes you can snag them for $1 on certain promotions!  (They are regularly $3.99)

O.k. ya’ll….that’s my round-up for the WHAT TO WEAR for the Beach Series!  Tomorrow is the last part of the series and it’s a GOOD ONE!

Do you dread shopping for bathing suits?  Where do you find your deals?

xoxo, Brandi’
