Before I launched this blog, I was an avid reader and follower of a handful of lifestyle bloggers that I felt “got” my style. And since my style and budget have evolved – because #MOMLIFE – I have since narrowed them down even further to ensure that A) I don’t hate myself when I’m scrolling through their feed (COMPARISON IS THE DEATH OF JOY, remember?) and B) that I can actually afford to shop their links!
So to my Brand-New-Day-ers, I would like to introduce you to Mallory Fitzsimmons, the blogger behind Style Your Senses. She is my absolute GO-TO when it comes to mom-fashion, style, and budget-friendly finds. I have followed her feed for about two years now and she is fashionably down-to-earth and her taste is TOP NOTCH! Her blog post regarding Amazon Fashion is what inspired this post! I am all about giving credit to where credit is due so I encourage you to follow Mallory on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest! Also, don’t forget to sign up for her awesome email newsletter!
AMAZON FINDS!
First off, this fabulous 2 pc outfit! Honestly, I have never been comfortable with my mid-section. Especially after two kids! But I WANTED to be. When Mallory posted about this, I thought “O.k. I can do this!” and for less than $20 – it was a no-brainer! The material is soft and feels more high-quality than I thought it would. I was also surprised at the fit! It was comfortable and light weight! Add a stacked heel or a flat sandal and a straw bag and you are good to go
Bag – Universal Threads, $27.99, Target Shoes – Old Navy $34.99
Next up, this adorable off the shoulder tie-dress ! I saw this print on several boutique sites, but I didn’t have patience to wait a month for it to get to me – NOR spend $50 on a dress that I would wear a few times this year. I got the green color, but it comes in red, navy, yellow as well. I sized up to a MEDIUM in this because the reviews mentioned it ran small, so I recommend doing so. Also, you will need a sticky bra because of the low back. I love the ties at the top and the cute ruffle on the bottom; it just adds a little detail but so feminine and pretty. And the print is so on-trend for summer!
I also ordered this dress for our beach weekend, but decided against it. Here’s why – the fabric felt cheap and way too polyester-y (if that’s a word) and it was super short. Even after sizing up. Also the fit wasn’t quite right. I didn’t even snap a pic!
Next up – another DATE NIGHT dress. I really wanted THIS print, but ended up with the orange/white print. I was impressed with the way this fit! For under $15, it’s definitely well-made and fit true to size (I ordered a small). Not too many reviews so maybe this is a hidden gem! I was a little nervous my boobs would pop out, but they stayed in! Also, the slit is a bit high, but again – DATE NIGHT DRESS. And honestly, I’m trying to step out and be a bit sexier on nights out, because #MARRIAGE.
On to the TOPS!
Mallory highlighted this scallop tank in her post, so I ordered it and it fell exactly where she said it would – about a 6 out of 10. For under $10, it was a gamble. I didn’t care for the texture of the tank or how it fit, so I went on to order this one and it was LOVE!!! For just $13.99 to have a shirt that fits well, can be dressed up with jeans or dressed down with shorts and looks high-end – I will take it! I could also see this being a great work shirt under a blazer or cardi!
This work out tank is a MUST GET! I had seen her post about it a few times and she has an entire post dedicated to Amazon Work Out gear, so I encourage you to check it out! This tank is true to size (I ordered a small) and fits so well. It offers support in the bra area and doesn’t cling to the mid-section, making it flattering AND functional! I will be ordering more colors in this asap!
Another work out tank – these are GREAT for a number of things! Running errands, running outdoors, work-outs at the gym, and even a bathing suit cover up! (I wore mine as all of these this past weekend at the beach!) And at under $20 for a 2-pack, these should be in every woman’s drawers! I got the green and black, because I’m super basic when it comes to work out gear, but they have a ton of great options! I also sized up to a Medium and am glad I did because with a wash and dry they shrunk a bit. So SIZE UP!
I ordered a few other things from Mallory’s post and will update you as soon as they come in, but I wanted to share a few of my finds! I encourage you that if you aren’t an AMAZON PRIME member to get on that ASAP!
