    “You’re so dramatic.” “You’re too emotio “You’re so dramatic.” “You’re too emotional.” “You’re crazy!” “Your sister is the pretty one and you are the smart one.” “You could lose that belly if you ran faster!” “You are your mothers child.” ….. these are just a few of the things that my father used to tell me when I was growing up, usually with a forced laugh or gritted teeth. Coming up on #fathersday weekend, I’m always conflicted because while my children have been blessed with the most loving and kind dad- my relationship with my father has always been a struggle. We haven’t spoken in 5 years. And I wish I could say that it doesn’t bother me or that it doesn’t effect me in one way or another- but oh how it does. I look at myself in the mirror every day and instead of saying “I am ENOUGH.” I hear the words above and pick myself apart. At 39 years old I shouldn’t have “Daddy issues” but I am learning that yes, I do, and I am working thru those as we speak. I share this with you to let you know that if you are struggling with a family relationship- you aren’t alone. All families have shit that they are battling. Today is a brand new day and a chance to heal a bit more. Sending hugs and sunshine your way. ☀️ #thoughtfulthursday

I felt like I had to literally buy EVERYTHING just to keep up. It was exhausting and financially draining. Now, I wear a lot of what I have on repeat. I share unique things I may buy for an upcoming trip or because of a partnership or collaboration I have, but mostly- I am a regular girl like you. I have days when I look at the variety of my pretty clothes and think “God- I have NOTHING to wear!” 😂😂😂 I love my @madewell white denim- I wear them at least once a week. I also love my @loft work pants. I love a cute statement top and a fun work dress like this one I wore today (with a blazer) from @walmart . I want each and every woman I meet in this platform to feel like they can pull cute things from their closet and make a great look that makes them feel put together. All that to say, please don’t buy what you don’t need.
